Wedding Prep: Service Timeline

There are so many things to think about when planning a wedding, sometimes the last thing you're thinking about is yourself. I created this service timeline to help you plan your beauty-related events!

Service Timeline

8-12 Months Before This is the best time to start regular facials Getting a head start on your skin journey allows your esthetician to create a tailored plan to have your skin looking and feeling it's best for your big day. 3-6 Months Before Start monthly facials if you haven't already, this will make a huge difference in your skin Time to do any invasive treatments (ablative laser, chemical peel, etc). The closest to the wedding date would be 3 months prior but that depends on your skin, please talk to your provider 2-4 Months Before Start testing nail colours and shapes, spray tans/self tanner, and teeth whitening (if you are choosing to do any of the above). This will give you time to find the perfect fit and will have you at ease leading up to your big day 3-10 Days Before Most spray tan Artists will keep your shade/formula on file but it wouldn't hurt to double check Have your last facial 4-7 days before your big day. This will give the skin time to heal but still be nice and glowy Any hair removal or lash extensions can be done up to 4 days before the event. I also suggest getting your nails done in this time period 2 Days Before If you have decided to fake tan, now is the time. Listen to your spray tan Artist, they are the experts The Night Before Exfoliate and do a hydrating or sleep mask Drink lots of water The Morning Of Cleanse your skin and moisturize Communicate with your Makeup Artist beforehand on if they want you to do your full routine. Everyone has a different preference Avoid doing any microdermabrasion or peels, brow waxing or threading, lash extensions for the first time or drastically changing your hair colour within a few days of your wedding.

Winnipeg Service Providers

If you are located in Winnipeg, here is a list of service providers that I highly recommend for pre-wedding and wedding events!

  • The A'esthetic Skin Studio - everything from facials to medical aesthetics and products, the team at The A'esthetic is incredibly knowledgeable and can help you customize the perfect skincare plan.

  • Tans by Kait - Kait has been by far my best tan artist. She has a keen eye for matching undertones and welcomes everyone with a warm smile and bubbly personality.

  • That Curly Haired Nurse - Amanda is highly knowledgeable when it comes to neurotoxins and filler. She explains everything in depth before injecting and is always talking you through her steps.

  • Fem Body Sugaring - Kristen is so genuine and kind, she will make you feel so comfortable, even though sugaring is not the most enjoyable service.

  • Shae-Lynn - Shae is an incredibly talented nail tech, from simple to intricate artwork, she's your girl.

If you are looking for a provider for a service that isn't listed above, feel free to reach out and I can share some suggestions!

Your Wedding, Your Decisions

Remember, you don't need to do any of these treatments if you don't want to. There is so much pressure on brides to look a certain way, but at the end of the day, it is your wedding. If getting a couple of chemical peels done leading up to the wedding or getting a spray tan helps you feel more confident, go for it! If you feel most like yourself without a spray tan, great! I just like to share this timeline with people who are looking into different cosmetic/esthetic/beauty treatments leading up to the wedding to help with timing. The one thing I would recommend, as a Makeup Artist, is going for at least one facial prior to the wedding.
